Why Operation Smile?

About Operation Smile:

Founded in 1982, Operation Smile is a worldwide children's medical charity whose network of global volunteers are dedicated to helping improve the health and lives of children and young adults. Since its founding, Operation Smile volunteers have treated more than 130,000 children born with cleft lips, cleft palates and other facial deformities and the organization has a presence in 51 countries. In addition to contributing free medical treatment, Operation Smile trains local medical professionals in its partner countries and leaves behind crucial equipment to lay the groundwork for long-term self-sufficiency.

How your contribution helps:

For as little as $240, Operation Smile can change a child's life by giving the gift of a surgery. One life transforming surgery can take as few as 45 minutes and will change a child's life forever. More than 4,000 credentialed medical volunteers are mobilized to donate their time and talent to reach children worldwide.

Why we are Partnering with TWTRCON

Operation Smile has always strived to provide world class medical care and has been innovative in our training and development of International Medical professionals. That same focus on innovation and excellence has led Operation Smile to explore using Social Media to help donors take part in our Life-Changing work.

We are extremely excited to be partnering with TWTRCON, Common Knowledge, Modern Media and other industry leaders on this landmark campaign. We know the Twitter community is a generous, dynamic, and diverse group of people who can make a difference in the lives of children. This is a great opportunity to deliver our message through the power and reach of Twitter and allow the Twitterverse to experience the joy bringing smiles to children can bring.

We are honored to have you join us in changing 140 lives, 140 characters at a time!
